In connection to the coronavirus pandemic, NOVIS has decided, under the conditions set out below, not to apply the insurance exclusion according to which the right to insurance cover does not apply to insured events that occur as a result of an epidemic affecting a vast territory or a large part of the population.
This decision shall apply to insured events arising from any agreed insurance risk and which occur during the period of validity of this public promise in direct causal relation to the COVID-19 disease caused by coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 and its mutations known to date. Insurance benefit is paid in the manner and the amount agreed in the insurance contract and the general insurance conditions of the relevant product.
This public promise does not apply to insured events, which were directly or indirectly caused by the insured persons' failure to comply with regulations, measures, guidelines, recommendations or other instructions issued by the state or local authorities during the COVID-19 pandemic, which the insured persons should have followed.
NOVIS has decided that these conditions are valid for insured events that occur in the period from 28 April 2020 to 27 September 2020, i.e. during the period of validity of the public promise.
